I want only few people in my friends list to view my Facebook status and how do I do it?
It is for another friend's birthday and we are planning on surprising her with a birthday party. Is there a way to make only a few people to view a status message on Facebook or do we have to just use Messenger to plan the surprise party.

When you make a status there is an share option called custom. You click on that and you will be able to select who sees it and who doesn't

Go to settings option and select custom settings. Here only your selected friends are see your status.

i wouldnt recommend it, someone could share it or tag the birthday person... but yeah it's possible... each post has its own audience selector and you can just select only those 3 people to be able to initially see it
