Who do I believe?!?

Is it sprained or broken?!?!?!?!?

I went to an urgent care dr. because I fell down some steps and hurt my foot. This was 3 days ago and they did xrays and said it was a sprain, they called back later after I had left and said I had a fracture in my cuboid bone and to see an ortho. Then I had more xrays done at another health facility (not ortho) where the PA said sprain as well but I insisted on still seeing an ortho so I went with ONLY the second set of scans where he said he saw no fracture. The PA said they send the xrays to another place and will get a report back tomorrow so now I'm seeing what they say. I'm so confused I don't know if I broke something or just sprained it and I'm scared to overdo it and hurt my foot more. The ortho did give me a boot but said I could put weight on my foot. The entire right side of my right foot and onto the top is swollen and bruised. It hurts and I can only wiggle my first 2-3 toes. Who is right? What should I do in terms of caring for my foot?

my aunt is management at a very renowned and reputable orthopedic department of a major hospital, wich doesnt make me a doctor obviously, but it does give me a tiny bit of insight, plus ive spent my fair share of time in and out of ERs and hospitals as a frustrated patient. so heres my 2 cents...take first set of xrays to ortho u went to. as long as u know the doc is in the building, dont make an appointment, dont call, just show up. tell the receptionist whats going on. best case u sit around in his office for a bit and then he brings u in and takes a look at the xrays right in front of you. or not quite worst case but most likely case the receptionist asks you to leave the xrays with her and will have the doctor call you(who knows when). either way they probably could charge u but most places, that arent total low lives, will take a look out of professional courtesey, their reputation, and possibly liability to make sure they got it right. and while im not recomending it, if you really need answers immediately and the receptionist says to leave the xrays with her u can say "no, i want to give them to the doctor myself" and regardless of her response go sit patiently in a waiting room chair. eventually the doc will come out to call in a patient or to kick u out himself. either way u will most likely be able to see him and tell him whats going on. but with that strategy he may not give them a good look anyway because youve pissed him off. but anyway, hopefully you dont have to go that route. it isnt going to upset anybody if you just bring the xrays in and ask to have the doctor look at them..... i just realized all of that was based on the assumption u have access to the first set of xrays wich theoretically you should. you just have to walk in to the first place u went and ask for them. if all that fails and you have health insurance, just go to yet another doctor or ER and tell them everything that has happened BUT do not bring any xrays at all. let them start from scratch. just like any other picture taken in this world there are going to be varying degrees of an xray due to many factors. doctors are just as lazy as the rest of us so if you hand them an xray they may not do their own and by the sounds of it the ones youve had done already arent very conclusive. good luck.
