Should the Rowan County clerk follow the Constitution & issue marriage licenses to same sex couples, or should she follow "God's authority"?

A county clerk in Kentucky has again refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, invoking her religious beliefs and "God's authority" — this time in defiance of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling against her.

Clerks work for the government. The gov is separate from the Church, it's one of the founding principles of the USA. Suck it up and deal with it, clerks, or just transfer to another job and let the world move on... before you're labeled a terrorist for arguing with American values. lol, hey that would be sweet... "Angry clerk denies he's a terrorist because he dishonors the Constitution and Separation of Church and State." I'd love to see that headline.

As much as I hate to say it - she is a servant of the taxpayers and her job is to treat all equally under the law.

If she cannot perform her full function for all taxpayers, then she needs to be moved into another job where she is not presented with such a dilemma.

The clerk should no longer have a job if she is refusing to follow the laws of the land.

she's not issuing ANY marriage licenses, therefore she is not violating the Court decision.

It is very simple. To properly do the job she is getting paid to do she is required to do certain things. If she is uncomfortable with doing these things she should find a different job with different requirements.

Her lawyers seem to be unethically advising her to ignore court orders in order to generate publicity and to promote their own agenda and fundraising efforts.
