Ideas on how to reuse/recycle long, narrow, clear plastic bags (newspaper bags)?

My spouse has a surplus of them,as he just ended work as a newspaper delivery driver. They are 22 x 9 inches, so they are too narrow to fit in any wastebasket.

He had to pay his own money to get them, so I want to find a good use for them. I would ideally want to use them for a DIY project or household purpose, but if anything, recycling is okay. If there is somewhere to sell or donate them that would put them to good use, that would be even better!

Any ideas?

(Also, any creative ideas what to do with extra newspaper? I hate to add to the landfills but you can only add so mauch newspaper into worm compost bins).

If you recycle them, put them in the bins that take grocery bags; they are LDPE. However, they should be of some use in the kitchen for things like fruit, pasta, almost anything that will fit.
