Why is Kim Davis in prison for refusing to enforce gay marriage but Obama isn't in prison for refusing to enforce immigration laws?

Why didn't George W. Bush enforce immigration laws?

We have all heard the completely warranted criticism of the Obama Administration instructing ICE to use "prosecutorial discretion" when dealing with illegals as well as DACA — this is inconsistent with on-the-books laws. Of course, the right wasn't as vocal about Bush flouting the law, but why didn't Bush step up deportations in the first place like Obama has?

As a Western governor, Bush understood that immigrants are integral to our economy. Business profits are driven by growth, and growth is driven by demographics. Immigrants, once they are here, work for less because they are vulnerable to deportation, and because they may lack language skills necessary for better jobs.

George Bush's financial contributors were drawn from these industries, and from business generally, which is above all focused on growth. By giving lip service to "cracking down on illegals" and "securing the border" the Republicans got the support of Anglo voters worried about immigrants. Then by actually doing very little to curb immigration, they got the financial support of business.

Because liberals are raving hypocrites. And why wasn't Obama in jail for refusing to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act? Or Obamacare, for that matter?

Because the President ( ANY President ), has the Discretion to enforce the Laws as They Please- as long as They are being followed. Mrs. Davis chose NOT to Do a part of her Job that She was being Paid to Do, NOR was She following the Directive of the Courts- to Do so. So this Weekend- She spends in Jail. :o

She's in jail for contempt of court. Not that this fact will change your brainwashed mind.
