Is it a strategic blunder for GOP candidates like Huckabee and Cruz to take-up Kim Davis' cause?
So far, nearly all GOP candidates except "The Donald" has embraced the now jailed County Clerk, Kim Davis.
@ NIGHTDOOM: "Nope, they are defending her religious rights not her legal responsibilities."
Really? As a government employee, Kim Davis does not have that luxury. And those swimming to her aid deserve to drown with her!

yes the same way they supported Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy the racist rancher who did not pay his bills and supported Terri Schiavo the brain dead woman they wanted to keep on life support, and some still support the invasion of Iraq for no good reason.

I guess that depends on what is being defended.
If they defend discrimination and denying people their rights - you bet it's a blunder.
If they point out that the Supreme Courts ruling on gay marriage has created a conflict between law and the constitutional right of freedom of religion and work to reconcile the two - they would show themselves to be leaders.
Gay couples have the right to marry - it's the law
People have the right to practice their religion - it's a constitutional right.
These 2 things conflict. Support gay marriage or not - it is legal. Support religion or not it is protected by the constitution. Should a gay couple be denied their rights? No. Should someone be forced to go against their religious beliefs? No.
An answer needs to be found that is fair to both.
We are a short sighted, ignorant people not able to see the real question much less provide an answer.

What little each candidate has is tied to the Christian fundamentalist base. If they threw her under the bus they'd be throwing away the only base of support they have.

Why does God keep telling these losers to run for president? Now God tells Kim Davis to inject her religious beliefs into her secular government job. Time to find a new god.

I don't believe so. As more and more of cases similar to this happen, Christians will start to get angry and totally dump the establishment all together. I believe they (especially Cruz) is staying the course for this reason.
