Why am I so terrible at math?

I pay attention in class and take all my notes, and yet I still don't understand. I try to do the equations correctly, but it's like trying to read a language I never learned and translate it. Is there something I'm doing wrong? What could I try to improve?

    This is exactly the situation that benefits from a tutor.

    Ask your parents or the school to find a way to connect up with a math tutor. That can turn your grades around in a few weeks.

    or may have a learning disability in math - are the other subjects fine?
