Why were unicorns taken out of the bible?

Many translations of the Bible have been made. The scholars who worked on the KJV were fluent in Greek and Hebrew as well as Latin. But the earliest Hebrew text is the Masoretic text which dates from about 1,000 c.e. The Vulgate version of the Bible was compiled about 400, but it is full of errors.

The scholars of the KJV were often uncertain about prepositional phrases and other passages that aren't easy to translate. They marked these in red ink. Another major problem was that they were ignorant of Hebrew idioms. We take idioms for granted and they make perfect sense for us, but they are the final hurdle in learning a foreign language. The scholars couldn't comprehend Hebrew idioms and so they lifted them wholesale, which is one reason why the Bible is so confusing. They also changed the meaning of words like 'poisoner' in the passage 'Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live.' In keeping with the current witch hysteria they translated this word as 'Witch', which caused a catastrophe in European history.

If you're going to live by the Bible, at least use more sophisticated translations.

It is hard to believe adults actually point to 'unicorn' being found in some translations as a serious objection to the Bible. It certainly is a sure sign you are not dealing with the brightest of the bunch, and strongly suggestive that there is no good reason to waste time with a response.

A unicorn is a mythical creature....always has been.....always will be.
