What are the best scenic weekend getaways within 90 minutes of Melbourne?

I want to stay somewhere at scenic and relaxing spot with my wife and 8 years old son. I guess, weather is not ideal for any ocean front accommodation. If there are places where my son can enjoy too, please suggest. we are looking for two nights stay at weekend.

The Great Ocean Road is fabulous regardless of the season and there's lots of cosy accommodation along the way. Ballarat and Bendigo are also well worth a visit. Your son would enjoy Sovereign Hill at Ballarat. Echuca is a bit further to drive but there's a lot to see and do there and it's a bit warmer than Melbourne at this time of year.

Daylesford is very popoular, as is Castlemaine, Ballarat, Geelong. I personally like Hamilton and Warrnambool, but that is quite a bit further.
