How to apply makeup with drug store sponges, along with very bad lighting?

In the mornings, I wake up early so it's dark. I end up doing my makeup, and it looks gross/spotty in natural lighting. It's the absolute worst! I also don't have a beauty blender, just those simple trianglular prism ones. Can anyone help me with this? Like maybe techniques or other lighting options?

invest in a lamp or light bulb that is natural lighting. most beauty gurus on youtube have their own makeup light/ mirror such as this one : http://www.walmart.com/ip/Conair-Oval-Oiled-Bronze... this is the best high quality for a cheap price that i could find. other than that, drugstore sponges are tricky and doesnt hold makeup well. before anything id use a brush or apply evenly with hands . thats what i did, but I had to practice a few times to get it right. GoodLuck! the struggle is real

First off, find better lighting. If your bathroom isn't cutting it, figure out another situation. Second, the sponges you're using are basically the worst things you can apply foundation with. Your fingers are better, honestly. I would get yourself a brush. They sell elf brushes at Target that aren't too expensive. Get one and use it!
