Can the U.S. simply stop immigration to this country until all undocumented people have been documented, however long it takes?

    Not really. There are LEGAL applicants who have been waiting for years to be allowed entry into the US.

    That's part of the problem with illegal entry. They may be here ' for a better life', but so are those waiting in line.

    It can, but why stop legal immigration when it wouldn't stop illegal?

    No, it can't. Businesses would raise holy fcuking hell, for one thing; they need to hire people.

    Does congress have that ability? Yes. Will they do it? No. Congress is quite aware of who their masters are.

    i think the government has sufficient bureaucrats to do both
