Asking a professor for job reference when I never communicated with them outside of class?
Has anyone been in this situation? I m a shy person with social anxiety, so I never interacted with any of my professors outside of class. Even in class, the only interaction I have with them is asking for clarification on things like due dates. Would they reject my request to use them as reference just because we never spoke with each other?

I've had the same feeling when I wanted to find professional references! Technically, you aren't supposed to interact with them outside of class so it's not as odd as it seems. They can tell whoever is wanting to know about you by your efforts in class, attendance, and how well you did. Don't worry about it. I'm sure they get asked a lot.
