  • Just one bed bug?

Today, I was wearing something but wanted to change before a birthday party. Before I changed, I was wearing a jacket. at first I was going to go with a black jacket but since it didn't have pockets I decided to change again so I could wear the jacket I was wearing earlier. When I went to put on this jacket the sleeves were inside out so I was fixing them. I saw one bed bug on the sleeve of the jacket. I removed it, took it outside. I checked my bed and it's completely clear (no bugs or feces). I'm in the process of doing bedding and the rest of the laundry will be tomorrow. I have not seen anymore.

Earlier I did go to Kmart (wearing that jacket) and I took the dogs for a walk. Is it possible that it may just be one and not an infestation?

  • Selling Online?

Random question, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any websites that you can list items but they don't hold your funds for an eternity? For example, I make handmade furniture but I offer free shipping because it sounds better even if you put it in the total price. Usually it can take me up to a month to make a piece for someone but I need those funds to help me buy materials and to pay for shipping and handling. So far, I haven't found anything that allows immediate release of payment though. Is there anything?

Before someone says it, I know that the holds exist to protect the buyer and the seller.

  • Sick cat advice!?

I just became an owner of this cat in the beginning of the month so this certain cat is unfamiliar to me still. A few days ago it started sneezing. The sneezes weren't constant or exactly frequent but just randomly throughout the days. She still eats and her appetite doesn't seem to have decreased. She has been itching her ears more than often yesterday but that just started then. She doesn't have abnormal eye discharge but her nose seems to be a bit more wet than before.

    Could it be allergies?

I cannot take her to the vet today because it's Sunday but I'm just looking for advice.

  • Cockroach Question...?

Yesterday I was sitting at my laptop, in my room, in the dark. All of a sudden I hear a fluttering and I get up and turn the light on. I don't see anything so I shake out the blanket that was wrapped around me and move my other sheets/pillows. It was then that I saw what could possibly be a flying cockroach. I knew it was flying because of the fluttering but I know most of them don't fly well. I've lived in my apartment since November and this is the third bug I've ever seen which is pretty good! I honestly don't think I have a cockroach problem (I did in my other apartment that was above a restaurant... yuck! but those things were crawing all over the floor and whatnot but not here). So, is it completely possible that it may have found its way in on a cold night? I'm just worried I suppose! My apartment is really small so I checked everywhere and couldn't find a thing. Any help would be appreciated!

  • I need tattoo healing advice/suggestions?

On the sixth of this month I got a chest tattoo that is probably half of my entire chest. I thought it was infected so yesterday I run to the shop and I was told it isn't. I thought the scabbing was green but it was just gray and I realized my bathroom lighting is awful lol. Anyways, I still have these two slits. They're supposed to be outlines but I think from naturally stretching my arm it made the outline open to form a wound. The artist said that it'll be okay and it looked fine.

Anyways, I wash it three times a day max and I used to apply Lubriderm to it but when I went to the shop last night I was told to apply Aquaphor. I did and it feels good and less sore but I'm concerned. The tattoo has heavy scabs and Aquaphor keeps them moist. Should I stop the Aquaphor since it's already scabbed and go to lotion? Or stick with the Aquaphor even though it is scabbed?

This isn't my first tattoo - all the other ones I only used lotion so Aquaphor is new to me when it comes to healing tattoos.

  • Are my pipes frozen?

I live in a studio (it's a house structure that's divided into apartments) and yesterday morning everything worked just fine. Around 9PM last night I realized that my shower won't turn on (both hot and cold temps weren't working) and in the bathroom the sink won't pour out any cold water but the hot works just fine. In the kitchen though both temperatures work. I'm not sure where the pipes are for the cold or for the shower so I can't really inspect them.My landlord told me to put a space heater in the bathroom and I did for a bit but I think the issue is coming from outside of my apartment. I've had my heat on high all day but it's electric heat and doesn't really travel outside of the room that it is in so it is pretty cold in the bathroom. I'm unsure what to do and I'm worry that there might be a real issue. I live in Indiana and yesterday we had wind gusts around 40-50MPH and it was below around -14 but always stayed below freezing. Should I worry or what would you suggest that I do?

  • I was looking at Oldnavy.com and found some things but I became confused when looking at their size chart...?

I normally wear a 1x (usually at JC Penney) and the measurements are:

    Bust - 41 - 44.5

    Wasit - 33 - 36.5

    Hips - 43.5 - 47

Now, according to the size chart I would wear an XL. I haven't shopped at Old Navy since I was a lot bigger so I don't know.

So for my question... Old navy lists their XL as

    Chest - 42.5 - 45

    Waist - 34.5 - 37

    AND their XXL is

    Chest - 47.5

    Waist - 39.5

I am not used to being an XL, should I get the XXL or do the XL since apparently I fall under that category?

  • A Clockwork Orange - Ages of the main boys?

I am doing a paper for a class on teenagers/youth and I wanted to use the film A Clockwork Orange. I saw the film years ago but I couldn't recall so I decided to ask on here. Does anyone know the ages of the main boys in this film? I searched but I couldn't find it.

  • Chicago Blue Line CTA?

Tomorrow I am taking the train from Dune Park (in Indiana of course) to Millennium Station. From Millennium Station I was debating on taking a taxi to the nearest train station that is a Blue Line to reach O'hare Airport. My questions are:

    1) Can I taxi to anyyy Blue Line and reach the airport? Or is there certain ones?

    2) Can I meet a friend at O'hare and take the Blue Line back to the Loop (a hotel) if I was not a passenger?

    3) If you've done this, or something similar, have you encountered any issues?

  • Question about travel in Chicago?

I'm asking this for those experienced with the Chicago area,

next month Im taking a two week trip to Chicago. I'll be getting there via the NICTD from Dune Park. My final destination is O'hare airport.

I'm curious how in the world do I get to O'hare once I'm there? I'm not sure where to get off at exactly, the last time I took the NICTD I got off at Millennium Station but know nothing about the area so there could be somewhere closer.

I also know the Blue Line runs to/from O'hare but I dont know if it runs from Millennium Station.

I'm trying to stick with trains/buses because taxis are so expensive.

Could someone, anyone, please help me.

  • Do these living terms seem fair to you?

I am staying with my brother for summer break (three months) due to massive financial issues and a death in the family (I would have usually stayed with my mother but she passed away, leaving me "homeless" when I left the dorms and needing somewhere to stay). My issues rose 3 weeks before the ending of the semester, I tried to get a job but I waited too long because I didnt know itd be as dire as it is now.

My other brother, who attends college with me, is also coming so these totals are for both of us together.

    $390 (rounded figure) total

$40 for water (they claim this is how much weve used in a month by taking a shower every day but they failed to take into account that they also fill up a swimming pool every other day pretty much and they wash their vehicles and leave the hose on. we also may do laundry once a week.)

$90 for internet (we couldnt get wireless from the neighbors like they were :\ so we requested to pay for half of real internet... they got a business pack that costs more than $150 a month)

$150 for food (we eat one meal which is dinner and buy our own soda, they buy their food via foodstamps)

$110 for gas and electric (we live in the attic together and only have 2 lamps on, not the main light. we watch dvds all night until we go to bed and play on the computer after their children go to bed. they leave all the lights on in the house and have three window unit air conditioners running... we dont have one in the attic. the first month we lived here is when they started using all the air conditioners, i think they forgot to take that into account).

To me, this is over priced. I just want other opinions. They're behind on most of their bills, which is why I believe they're making us pay so much.

Like I said, its two of us and three of them. I got ahold of their electric bills which compares months of use and this full month has been no more drastic than other months, if anything it was less.

I dont know much about bills, obviously lol, and I dont mind helping out but I dont want to be taken advantage of.

  • Hard drive issue? Storage Device Error?

I've been getting an error on my computer if I leave it on and go away, sometimes it will go to a black screen and give me an error about storage devices. I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue and what they did. Is it my hard drive? If so, how do I go about fixing it?

  • Weird dorm room smell?

This may seem like an odd question but I'm very curious what others think. Who knows, maybe someone has had this happen to them before also!

I transferred to this new university with an extremely old friend of mine. I have been here for a week and noticed nothing. However, yesterday it started happening and today it is really strong. There is this scent that is really noticable when you open the door (and afterwards even though you get use to it) that smells like, the best way I can describe it, a wet towel that's been left out for awhile. I suppose, in a way, it smells like a gym locker lol.

I do our towels every week, I just did them Tuesday of this week. We leave them in a basket to be washed. I figured who knows maybe it was them so I picked up the basket and it didn't smell strange.

I walked over to our little fridge, no horrible smells were coming out. I stuck my head in the closets but nothing here also and I noticed nothing in the room resembles the smell that I am smelling.

I live on the fourth floor of the hall, there is another floor above me. Is it possible that the smell is going from below or above me? I don't smell anything in the hall, probably because of the amount of perfume others wear lol.

I just can't figure it out, any ideas?

  • Touring a prison and have piercings, should I take them out?

My college Criminal Justice class is touring a local prison Thursday. I asked my teacher (who use to work there but he didn't know the answer) if they would make me take my piercings out. I know we're going through a metal detector and being mildy searched but was curious: if you can clearly see them, would I have to take them out? They don't have a website rather they have a PDF on guidelines for visiting prisoners rather than tours. I know this might sound stupid but I want to know what I should do, if I should take them out.

    Thanks!
