Just got recently employed by Walmart as a truck unloader. I work 8 hours in a day, but sometimes they want me to work more than 8 hours.?

If I go over 8 hours in a work day are they required to pay me time and a half? I'm also part time.

Update:

Also, instead of asking me if I wanted to work past my 8 hours they said I had to. Are they allowed to do so?

Update 2:

I live in Tennessee

In most places, time and a half is only required for hours over 40 in a workweek In California, under most circumstances it's over 8 hours in a workday
