Politics: What do Conservatives think about this quote?

Actually, it's the LEFT that is doing that; on college campuses that have"free speech zones" in a country where such a zone is supposed to be anywhere you are; harassing people at work who disagree with their positions on social issues to the point they quit to protect their families; to the incessant attempts at gun control measures without enforcing laws already in place, and worse, blaming the gun instead of the criminal using it (unlike what they do with drunk drivers or stabbings). Worse, they demonize Christianity, insisting that someone running for office be willing to "check their faith at the door", then call for the head of Dr. Carson for insisting that a POTENTIAL Muslim candidate be held to the same standard, not realizing that the section of the Constitution (Article 6, Clause 3) is violated by such insistence.

Ben Franklin was correct, so the left better stop trying to "fundamentally transform the nation" (which, by the way, was a charge leveled against King George III in the Declaration of Independence) before they start a real war they can not win, because they never have yet.

This quote:

"Since you're desperately trying to make everywhere in the U.S. a military compound strictly regulated by government soldiers in order to keep you safe?"

is something only a brainwashed liberal douchebag would think or say. It has no basis in reality, and actually applies more to liberals (progressives / leftists / fascists) than conservatives.

The Franklin quote is spot on.

You liberals seem to want to trade essential liberties - the right to bear arms, self-government, economic freedom, etc - for the false comfort of a nanny state.

I think you've got the world upside-down. Conservatives want less government control and more freedom - including the right to protect ourselves against nutjobs by whatever means are necessary.

It's the libs who want daddy government to care for their every need, want, and desire. While you may not like the military, you certainly don't mind giving up all your rights to protect yourself in the hopes that they might get there in time to save you.

Democrats are the damsels in distress. Republicans are the nights in shining armor constantly coming to their rescue.
