Politics: Conservatives, can you see any irony in this?

Question

Yesterday on his show Glenn Beck talked about a Christian man desperate to save his family from ISIS, but he could not afford to move to a safer country.  Glenn Beck continued to say nobody cared about this man and the left were all too willing to let him die.

Why does a story such as this tug at your heart strings when the man believes what you do?  And not when thousands of refugees from Syria are trying to do the exact same thing?  In a country where we claim to accept religious freedom, shouldn't all these stories matter?  Regardless of what religion these people profess to believe?

This has nothing to do with religious freedom and everything to do with protecting ourselves from the onslaught of nutjobs who want to kill us. There is absolutely no way to vet these "poor souls." While some may be looking for refuge from the religious war, there are also many who want to come to America and kill Americans. We have absolutely no way to tell them apart. There isn't enough documentation in their home countries to prove anything about who they are, what they believe, or what their intentions are.

If you're so sure that they're just looking for safety, why not let them live in your house where your children sleep at night? Are you that sure that they are not dangerous?
