Best 70's songs?
Hey everyone. I was born in the 80's, but love 70's music. I am trying to grow my collection, but when I search "Best 70's songs" it always gives me the same overplayed disco songs. I need some songs to check out that aren't the obvious ones. Some of my favorites are "25 or 6 to 4", "Rubberband Man", "The Groove Line", some of Abba's less cheerful stuff (SOS, Money, Money, Money) and so on. Thanks in advance for the help!

great answer from Danny, and I agree that's a pretty broad list and that was a very active decade musically. This was the decade when Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, Alice Cooper, Tom Waits, Kansas, Rush, The Eagles, Elvis Costello, Weather Report, Joy Division, the Clash, San & Dave, James Brown and many more were creating classics.
But since you like 25 or 6 to 4 you may like Chicago's first couple albums (before guitarist/singer Terry Kath died).
But here's some ZZ Top from Tres Hombres (picked songs other than La Grange): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZEu3M95Zv0
And how about an epic? Rush's 2112: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZm1_jtY1SQ
And a quintessential pop song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssd3U_zicAI

Your picks are pretty broad, so lemme try a couple of things.
The original Chicago (CTA) stuff was super-fine, with a rock/jazz/fusion mix that few bands could touch. "Rubberband Man", OTOH, was more of a pop/funk thing. Right down the middle, with horns:

If you go more into Soul or R&B, here's a classic, by Sam & Dave:

A little bit the other way, one by Blood Sweat & Tears:
