  • Where should I look into for a future move. ?

I am looking for a place that is either flat or has rolling hills, is very green, has plenty of trees but not a lot of overgrowth, has 4 distinct seasons, and is not too humid or too arid. I would love to live in a place that has lots of maples, oaks or trees of similar height. I am not looking for insanely tall trees (like in the southeast). It has to have a major city with a skyline. Even if the city itself fits these categories, the rest of the state doesn't really have to. I'm guessing there are parts of the midwest that are similar to what I am talking about, but that would be a HARD sell for my partner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • What are some great cities with 4 seasons, but aren't too cold?

I'm looking for 4 seasons. When I say I don't want it "too cold", I am mostly talking about the wind. I have been in West Texas where it rarely snowed, but the wind was brutal. I have lived in places that had snowe for 3 months, but it was comfortable. So it's the freezing cold winds I hate. I want FALL FOLIAGE! I would love a summer that has great weather. Spring blooms would be nice, but that is not as important. I want a place that has nice green grass. I thoroughly enjoy rain storms, so if I have to deal with humidity to not have dry scenery, I can handle that. It can't be worse than where I live now (South Alabama). I also need a LARGE city. I would love good public transportation, but I have never had it, so I can live without it. Thanks in advance!

  • Viola or Cello?

I am looking to take up one of these 2 instruments. My goal is to play with an amateur orchestra. I have about 4 years before I will move to a city with a volunteer orchestra, so I feel confident that I can reach this level by that time. I do have lessons available to me locally. I like the look and the feel of a cello more. I like the repertoire for the viola more. Yes I know that is surprising, but I have had my fill of solos as an oboist and I do not enjoy playing the bass line at all (I've played trombone and baritone). I love playing harmonies and I love how the viola often plays this swift background sound when everyone else dies away. I like the sound of both. I love the lower register of the viola and the upper register of the cello. My issue is that the viola is uncomfortable and I had a REALLY hard time trying to make vibrato happen on it when I worked on it before. Cello is MUCH easier to at least get basic vibrato out of and way more comfortable. Cello is also much more expensive to get started on. I think I would enjoy either one and both have their drawbacks. I'm just looking for some input. Again, I am NOT trying to be a virtuoso here, so please no negativity. I have a little experience with strings and can read bass, tenor, alto and (to a lesser extent) treble clefs, so that doesn't really come into play here either.

  • What are standards for University oboe auditions?

The audition requirements state that scales should be played 2 octaves, but when I asked about A as an example, I was told it isn't standard, so it would not be required. I am not sure how high "standard" reaches. As of right now, I am playing 2 octaves up to F. Should I go to G for college auditions? Also, should the chromatic scale be played from the lowest note to the highest I can play, or should it be C to C?

  • Do a Cocker Spaniels ears as a puppy indicate how curly their ears will be as an adult?

Most people tend to love the super curly hair on a Cocker Spaniel. I, however, like the straighter hair. Just wondering if there is a way to know at an early age if they will have curly/straight hair or if it develops later. Much the way a golden retriever puppys ears can give an indication of the shade they will be when older. Anyone know? Thanks!

  • Do I speak to the audience in my audition?

We have been given "monologues" for an upcoming audition. The part I will be reading for has me very angry at people on the stage (or will be during the actual show). Should I act as though there are other actors on stage? It does have a couple of areas that I can speak directly to the audience during this, but I am unsure what to do here. It is the wedding scene in Much Ado About Nothing and I will be reading for Claudio if that helps. Thank you.

  • Why is Trombone in bass clef while baritone is in tenor?

Trombone is a tenor instrument and baritone is a baritone instrument (which is lower than tenor). I am not talking about the exceptions, but the majority of the time.

  • Leather harness in the gay scene?

I have been wanting to get some leather gear for a while. Just a harness and bicep/wrist cuffs to start. I just want to make sure I am not sending some kind of hidden message if I get the wrong one though. I was looking at one that just goes around the shoulders and straight across the back but it said something like "The tops will have something to grab onto". This or one that just goes across the back and chest are what I am wanting simply because I like the look of it and it pulls the shoulders back. So, is there some kind of code I need to look out for or should I just wear what I like?

  • Switching my diet from weight loss to muscle gain?

So for the first time in my life, I actually hit a fitness goal and am no longer classified as over weight for my height/age/sex. I was for probably a decade. Now, I am looking to change to muscle gain and don't know how to switch up my diet to do so without gaining a bunch of fat back. A typical day for me consists of a piece of whole wheat toast with almond butter and banana slices, a cup of fruit, a salad, maybe some mixed nuts as a snack and/or an omelet for dinner. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

  • Best 70's songs?

Hey everyone. I was born in the 80's, but love 70's music. I am trying to grow my collection, but when I search "Best 70's songs" it always gives me the same overplayed disco songs. I need some songs to check out that aren't the obvious ones. Some of my favorites are "25 or 6 to 4", "Rubberband Man", "The Groove Line", some of Abba's less cheerful stuff (SOS, Money, Money, Money) and so on. Thanks in advance for the help!

  • What can I use instead of a comforter during summer?

I like the look of a comforter or duvet with all the accent pillows. Unfortunately, I live in a HOT climate and my window faces West, so the sun is blazing through into my room before bed. I have gone as far as putting foil over the Windows and it is still incredibly hot in my room. Hotter than any other area of the house. I can t sleep without being covered up and just using a sheet feels akward. What is a cooler alternative than a comforter or duvet that I can use in the summer months that still looks well put together? I am a younger guy, so quilts don t exactly look very masculine or contemporary in my opinion. Thanks!

  • What is the point of a follicle test?

I have no problem passing one, but I started thinking about it and realized I don't exactly agree with it. If someone is not currently doing drugs and trying to get their life together, why look deep into their past and keep them down for something they may have not done for years? Just curious as to why this method is used and why companies find it important to not hire someone who may have had a drug problem in the past.

  • Is "strong dreams" a typical phrase in Russia?

I was talking to an aquantance from Russia and they closed with saying Крепких снов or "strong dreams". Is this a typical phrase one would say to a male? Just curious.

  • How do I tell a spanish speaking person the price of something?

I am currently working a second job as a cashier. I am somewhat of an overachiever and I like to be able to speak as much spanish as I can to communicate with my customers. I can interact somewhat by saying things like how are you, have a nice day, is this going to be everything, etc. They really seem to appreciate that I make an effort. I have a problem with the pricing though. All I can find is how to say while dollar ammounts or how to say prices in Mexican currency. How would I say $25.42 for instance? I know how to say numbers already. Would it be veinticinco dollars con cuarenta y dos cents or centavos? I have just been saying the price in English but I have noticed my customers having to look at the screen to figure out what the amount is, which is fine but why not go the extra mile and improve myself?

  • Cities with great temps and lots of rain?

I have seen a lot of "Best Weather" lists, but they all seem to think very little rain makes for an ideal climate. I completely disagree. I was raised around Mobile, AL. where it rained almost year round and now live in West TX. which almost never gets any. I LOVE rain. It keeps everything fresh, green and cool. So I am interested to know of some places in the US that doesn't get too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer, but still gets plenty of rain. Thanks!

  • Episcopal Marian Theology?

I am just curious to know what the official church stances are on some questions. If I am not mistaken, there are differing oppinions on many issues within the Episcopal church and I am welcome to have my own beliefs on the subject, but I would still like to know.

    Immaculate conception?

    Ever Virgin?

    Assumption?

    Queen of Heaven?

    New Eve?

I suppose I am more concerned with the first 2 as I do not believe as the Roman Catholics do. It is something I have read scripture, read differing oppinions on, and prayed extensively for God to reveal the truth to me on when I was considering joining the RC Church and my beliefs on it have not changed.

I am looking for a handgun with little to no recoil just for leisure target practice. Not interested in a revolver. I have no experience whatsoever except shooting a bb gun and a pretty powerful handgun a few times. Any suggestions?

  • Song in "A League of Their Own"?

I am looking for the name of a swing song from this movie. It is right after "Veda Gillespie" does a radio announcement about the masculinization of women then the scene cuts to the girls playing baseball.
