What are some great cities with 4 seasons, but aren't too cold?

I'm looking for 4 seasons. When I say I don't want it "too cold", I am mostly talking about the wind. I have been in West Texas where it rarely snowed, but the wind was brutal. I have lived in places that had snowe for 3 months, but it was comfortable. So it's the freezing cold winds I hate. I want FALL FOLIAGE! I would love a summer that has great weather. Spring blooms would be nice, but that is not as important. I want a place that has nice green grass. I thoroughly enjoy rain storms, so if I have to deal with humidity to not have dry scenery, I can handle that. It can't be worse than where I live now (South Alabama). I also need a LARGE city. I would love good public transportation, but I have never had it, so I can live without it. Thanks in advance!
