    It just might be a truth! If you believe some one is talking about you and they are then it is neither a delusion or hallucination.

    If they are not talking about you but you hear voices- then either it is a delusion or maybe your focus is on the wrong some one.

    If you think they are talking about you and it is not based on some factual information then it is a delusion.

    It is a delusion - an idiosyncratic belief or impression that is firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what is generally accepted as reality or rational argument, typically a symptom of mental disorder

    "the delusion of being watched"

    Hallucination - an experience involving the apparent perception of something not present as seeing an oasis of water when in the desert.

    "he continued to suffer from horrific hallucinations

    The belief that someone is talking about you: is that a delusion or hallucination?

    ~~~ Beliefs are insanity!
    If you 'think' that someone is talking about you, it is either true, or delusion.
  • Sounds more like paranoia and insecurity to me.
    Delusion and hallucination would be more like the person you see talking about you isn't really there.
    A delusion, if it isn't true. If you think you actually hear them or see them talking about you when they are not actually present, that would be a hallucination.
    "Delusions of reference" is the term used to describe the belief that when you hear real people talking about ANYTHING, they're talking about YOU.
    For example:
    If people are talking about those little plastic dolls with the big hair and the big eyes, and you think that just because somebody said "trolls", they MUST be talking about you, that's delusional.
    It's a hallucination if you hear them doing it all the time. Trump can tell you more.
