How much is a little time with a psychologist? I think I might want to see one but don't have a lot of money.?

My parents wil scorn me for it, tell me they think it's dumb, etc but I do have issues and I could benefit from seeing some one. I just never felt empowered to do so but when I graduate I will have the money to see some one then as I won't have classes to pay for.

Update:

I'm not crazy or seeing thigns or anything like that. It's more about my self image, how others make me feel, my relationships, child hood, and so on.

    "Thigns'? What are 'thigns'?

Good for you for wanting to make your life better and seeing the benefit of therapy instead of just the stigma attached undeservedly. One does not need to be mentally ill to have life issues that an expt can help improve.

Do you have insurance? For these purposes, general healthcare works as insurance does.

Go see your doctor. Pediatrician, GP, family practice, whatever. Go and see them and request a referral to a psychiatrist, another type of physician. Make sure the psychiatrist is covered by your insurance plan. usually insurance covers referred psychiatrists.

Go over your issues with the psychiatrist and they will determine if therapy will help you. If they do, they can give you a referral to numerous counsellors/psychologists. Call your insurance co. and ask what is necessary for them to cover therapy. Usually a referral from a psychiatrist will suffice, but they may wish to select WHAT psychiatrist does the referring.

Do all this and your therapy can be covered, in part or in whole, by your insurance company.

It will still probably cost some money, but not much.

Clinical psychologists charge what the market allows for. In Seatt, one can cost $120-$1000. In Fargo, ND, one may charge only $80. These are all per hour.

That depends on the psychologist and their fees. It's going to vary per psychologist and maybe per State. I know some have different fees depending on whether the patient has health insurance or not. One way to find out is to call a few, explain your financial situation and ask what the cost would be.

I understand why you want to see one and those are good reasons. I hope you find a way to make it work for you.
