FedEx Shipment Exception?

Hi so I dropped off a package at FedEx a couple days ago to get shipped to the US.

Today it says:

"Shipment Exception, Improper or missing paperwork - Missing Commercial Invoice - Contact customer service"

What does that mean? Do I have to do something?

You need to fill out a commercial invoice for whatever you are shipping. In a nutshell, it requires the exact same information you put on the FedEx Airbill.

You can find one online. Just do a Google search.

I use them all the time for hotel guests who left or forgot something in their room after checkout. Considering it pretty much replicates what the Airbill says, I think its silly that its required for international shipping (even a shipment to Canada requires one).

Yes, you have to do something. You have to contact_customer_service, just like it says.
