Why would the late Rev. Falwell have done marriage vows renewal for actor Mickey Rooney several years ago? The man was on his 8th wife!?
"Before visiting the D-Day Memorial on Sunday, Rooney and his wife, Jan, renewed their wedding vows in a private ceremony performed by the Rev. Jerry Falwell. The couple has been married for more than 25 years; she is Rooney s eighth wife."

Probably for $$. Also Rooney was a celebrity. Funny though; Falwell openly condemned divorce, homosexuality, gambling, and just about anything that people found enjoyable! Somehow the rules didn't apply when it came to his own family. His own father was an agnostic and a bootlegger! Maybe that's why he did it in a "private ceremony." The irony is that Rooney is quoted as having said "I hear Jerry Falwell every Sunday here talking about the devil and Hollywood.... I'm gonna write him a letter. Hollywood wasn't built on filth and dirt it was built on talent." So it's not exactly clear he was a Falwell fan

Falwell would renew the vows of the devil, if he got enough publicity! He's obviously without morals.

My guess would be that Mickey Rooney donated time and money to Falwell's church .
