How to stay out of Christmas spirit?
I think this is nuts, but I'm already starting to feel Christmas spirit. I don't want to be in it until the week before Thanksgiving. I know if I get in spirit now, by Thanksgiving, when I start Christmas, I'll be out of Christmas spirit. I do have a few distractions. In my religion we remember the dead, and I will start reviewing for high school finals soon to keep me distracted. If I start preparimng for Thanksgiving, I think that would get me in Christmas spirit since that's when I start celebrating. Any tips?

I've said this to some others on this board. You've got it all wrong. Why try to 'stay out of it'? Why deny yourself the fun and happiness? You don't. Let it hit you. Sure, it's still far away (51 days), but that just means you get 51 days to be in the Christmas spirit. Embrace it and enjoy it!

The Christmas spirit itself is being giving, kind... It doesn't actually have to do with shopping and consumerism or decorating trees.. I think you might mean getting excited for Christmas and then getting burnt out before it gets here. Just...avoid joining in Christmas festivities until at least Thanksgiving. That way you won't get tired of it.
