I have this same issue. Some of the more mild toned down names my husband actually considered are: Aven, Esme, Merida, Pippa, Poppy, Keagan, Maddox, Piper, Harper. Hope this helped

Reggie is a nickname for Reginald, and Renesmee is a made-up name from a book series...so I suggest not using it.
What about Rena (REE-na), Reina (RAY-na), Rain, Raven, or Rowena (ro-WEE-na) for a girl.
How about Ryland, Reese, Reed, Rowan, Remus, Romeo, or Roderick for a boy?

I like Regina and call her Reggie. I think that's really cute. Rennessmay is an accident waiting to happen.

Rennessmay? Seriously? You realise the name is permanent and for a person who isn't you, right?
