Why are blood pressure readings not the same in all arteries?

    It depends on which blood vessel it is. For instance the ones that are major arteries i.e. carotid artery, brachial artery, etc. these are the major ones, so the arteries have to work harder. For the smaller ones i.e. the secondary ones, you might not get as high of one.

    My guess is the ones closer to the heart tend to be higher?
