Why is there so much confusion about if a woman can have a period while pregnant?

I know that women can't but I've seen both answers on here. Most people say you can't have a period but there are women that claim they had a period there whole pregnancy! Also I've seen a lot of different answers about if you can induce labor with sex or walking.. I sleazy so no because there's no scientific proof that those things bring on answers but no matter what there are people who claim that these things sent them into labor.. So is really a way (without medicine) to induce labor?! I wish everybody would get on the same page about these things ..

There is confusion because a lot of women experience bleeding, which they mistake for a period, during a pregnancy.

As for the walking or sex to induce labour theories... Walking doesn't induce anything. It helps a woman already in labour, to deal with the excruciating pain of contractions. And sex triggers contractions which may trigger her uterus to start labour. It might not. It could just be a really uncomfortable encounter with her partner.

The human body can be a weird thing. For every textbook pregnancy, there are women who go through the whole thing not even knowing theyre pregnant. IN GENERAL, you most likely won't have your period while pregnant. But some women do, maybe once or twice, or for a few months. The "period" can be lighter or like a light normal period for those women, or it can be spotting, or it might be a little more blood for a few days here and there. Watch a few episodes of a show like "I didnt know I was pregnant" and see the variety of reasons why a woman might not know theyre pregnant - many of them still get periods, or get such irregular periods that they consider one or two missed periods followed by a light period as their true cycle. So for a woman like that, having a light period while pregnant is possible and wouldn't be looked at as a reason to think they were pregnant. So those are often the women who wind up reporting they have "periods" while pregnant.

You can't induce labor yourself. If you could, doctors would never need to medically induce someone, because everyone would just fall back on whatever their chosen old wives tale tells them about how to make yourself have a baby. Women would have figured out a foolproof way by now to make sure they go into labor naturally. And we havent. So there isn't a foolproof way. Walking etc can "help", but its by no means certain. I went to 42 weeks with my son, and was induced because I wasn't dilated at all. My mother had 10 month gestation babies in the 1980s, and went into natural labor. The baby will be born when its ready.

There is no doubt that women can bleed during pregnancy. If it is researched, there are several explanations as to why. I try to recommend to most posters, that they should go ahead and take a test, because in all honestly, bleeding is not a full proof way to rule out pregnancy.

As for inducing labor, so many women can claim that a, b, or c sent them into labor, but how do they know if their body wasn't already in the process? After all, instead of painful, costly and invasive procedures like c-sections or inductions, why would a doctor not just say "go on a 3 mile walk" or "have sex with husband on Monday and I'll make sure to meet you at the hospital?".... And I am an avid exerciser, weight trainer, instructor etc and it never sent me into labor. I always delivered around my due date. As long as there is the internet, there will always be confusion, but hopefully, one would be smart enough to research these issues fully, instead of asking for short quick answers on a subjective forum.
