Could somebody please help with some conflicting claims about the Bible?
I have heard from Christians on here that all animals on Earth were herbivores before the Original Sin brought evil (and apparently carnivory) into the world. I have also heard that, prior to the fall, God gave us dominion over the animals for use as, amongst other things, food.
Was that dominion given before or after the Original Sin? How does that work?

The Genesis account states that God said:
"Let us make man in our image, n our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground... God blessed them and said to the, Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground. I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground - everything that has the breath of life in it - I give every green plant for food."
This dominion was not to use and abuse animals - it was to be about good stewardship and spreading the conditions of Eden world-wide. Animals were not to be food for sinless humanity, nor even after they were cast out of Eden; they were to toil in the field to grow food. Though God provided garments of skin for Adam and Eve, to help cope with life outside of Eden, there is no mention of their meat being eaten. Though Abel offered a lamb as a sacrifice to God, there is no mention of its meat being eaten either.
It is not until thousands of years later that God gave permission for animal meat to be eaten by humans, as long as they drained the blood out on to the ground first. That was after the flood of Noah's day - Genesis 9:1-6. Interestingly, it was only then that God said a fear and a dread of humanity would fall upon all the animals.
Some time after that, mention is made of a ruler called Nimrod being a mighty hunter. This is likely in connection with hunting animals (and probably people too, because he was not a godly person; - Genesis 10:8-12).

genesis is not very clear on these issues.
There was a time way back when all animals including ,man were herbivores. there is no such a thing as original sin. what occurred was that Adam Kadmon upon the astral planes above earth was sent down to earth hence the term FALL into genration as a single sexed adam at first and they were in seven zones of thousands of souls around the earth and aslo of several skin tones . Long after the adams slpit into the adams and eves so that procreation of the human species could take place and this continues still.

People have different opinions. While some maintain that animals were herbivores at some time, this is not explicitly stated anywhere in scripture, and it reduces the earth to magic, since the hunter animals such as lions and tigers, with their digestive system, are literally unable to live on vegetable matter, so the only way this claim can work is if God steps in and miraculously makes this class of meat-eater animals not only able to live on a vegetarian diet, but suppresses their natural desire to hunt prey.
If you consider the matter, it is impossible that the animals were all vegetarians with a series of major miracles.
If you want to say that these miracles all took place, okay, but you have just decided not to discuss anything Biblical with rational or logical thought processes, since you reject logic and say God just made the impossible possible for this period of time, just because I believe it's so.
Lots of folks do believe that, but I think it assumes the earth is not a logical or predictable place, and I don't accept such a point of view. It certainly is not needed in order to have a full, lively faith in God our redeemer.

Bibel is not a science book...
It's a book of nonsense and fantasy ;)
Ron Peterson: Creation Science/Intelligent Design "… is an attempt to give credibility to Hebrew mythology by making people believe that the world's foremost biologists, palaeontologists, and geologists are a bunch of incompetent nincompoops."
So… what's up with that?
Because all the works of science cannot equal the wisdom of cattle-sacrificing primitives who thought every animal species in the world lived within walking distance of Noah’s house.
Xians “are really against anything that discredits their religion…
And evolution does exactly that.
If evolution is true, then the story of Adam & Eve didn't literally happen, and if Adam & Eve didn't happen then Eve wasn't around to commit the "original sin" which means Jesus didn't need to die on the cross, and at that point their entire religion basically falls apart.”

There was a serpent in the garden, there are no herbivorous snakes nowadays and it is heard to imagine how there ever could have been. Yes to the second part. God gave Adam dominion over plants and animals. If you believe the bible. The first part sounds like a very speculative reading of the bible. Nowhere does it explicitly that all animals were herbivores as far as I can see.

The fall of the angels happened long before there were animals as a result of sin came death which effected all of creation the natural universe. So original sin applies to both the fall of the angels and the fall of mankind.
Think about this plants and animals die then decompose in which they return to the earth in which both plants and animals rely upon death to stay alive. An herbivore animal kills plants which they eat to keep themselves alive in turn their waste which is dead plants and when they die feed other plants and animals to keep themselves alive. A carnivore animal kills other animals which they eat to keep themselves alive in turn their waste which is dead animals and when they die feed other plants and animals to keep themselves alive. And omnivore animals eat both plants and animals again the same cycle to keep themselves alive.
Why is man the dominate species on the planet because we are at the top of the food chain and we are the only species on this planet which can make great things which benefits mankind as well as everything around us and we can also make horrific things which can destroy life. Any questions?
I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.

God gave Adam dominion over the animals before sin. The bible never said what the animals ate it says what men were given by God to eat.
It's likely that the carnivores were both able to eat vegatation and eat dead animals.

Science will probably give you more accurate answers. There were carnivorous dinosaurs millions of years ago, so the Bible is wrong on a lot of things. Most things actually.

Gen 1:27 God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. 1:28 God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 1:29 God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food. 1:30 To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.
Gen 3: Fall of man
Gen 7: Great Flood
Gen 9:1 God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 9:2 The fear of you and the dread of you will be on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the sky. Everything that the ground teems with, and all the fish of the sea are delivered into your hand. 9:3 Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As the green herb, I have given everything to you.
Based on the above, it wasn't until after the Great Flood that man and animals started to eat other animals besides eating plants.
A T-Rex's teeth would have been perfect for eating coconuts, and then later for cattle.

all animals were herbivores
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
animals did not eat meat until after the flood
genesis 9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
