The church i go to believes JC is God, but scripture clearly states JC is the son and God is the father. Should i keep going to this church?

    A fact -

The Bible uses the expression when speaking of Jesus declares that -

Jesus is ‘Son of God’ 47 times

    And

God said that Jesus is ‘My Beloved son’ 10 times

We have to accept what Jesus and God said about each other.

    You will find that -

    • God always has claimed the Jesus was His Son.

    • Jesus always claimed that God was his Father.

    • The Holy Spirit is and always has been the power by which God operates.

They are Three different entities not one.

Two of the entities having a Father and Son relationship.

The concept of a trinity was introduced by the think men of the time, based in the religions of the Egyptians, Babylon and the Greek cultures and accepted by the Roman Church some 300 to 400 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

    Two reasons for acceptance –

    1. When the doctrine was introduces by the Roman Catholic church about 400 AD.

If you did not accept the church’s teachings you were burnt at the stake.

Consequently the doctrine became firmly established the churches teaching.

It was not until the years after time of the reformation and the printing of the Bible in English by Tyndale that individuals were able to discover what the Bible really teaches about Jesus as God’s son and God as the Father of Jesus.

    2. Today adherents to the Trinitarian myth still manipulate verses to their own ends. Taking verses out of context and putting a spin on them. A spin that does not hold together when the overall gospel message is considered.

    Matthew 17:5 NKJV

    (5) While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"

I just don't understand why some so called Christians will not accept what Jesus said about God and what God his Father said about Jesus.

The spurious thoughts and ideas of mankind seem to have prescience of the words of God and Jesus His son.

The Gospel of John chapter 17 spends 26 verses telling us that Jesus thought God was his Father, although some will manipulate one verse to prove otherwise.

So why do people blindly accept doctrine the trinity?

You ask ‘Should I keep going to this church?’

That is entirely up to you.

May be you should look for a community that accepts the first century Gospel Message,

The Bible also states that Jesus is God. There's the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. These aren't three distinct people, just three facets of the same person. Unless you're a non-trinitarian. In which case, go wherever you want. There are plenty of Jehovah's Witness trolls on here who would love to convert you.

Isaiah 9:6 - for unto us a child is born ... his name shall be called the Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Eternal Father, the Prince of Peace.

    I am a man

I am also the son of a man

Bob is the Father, I am the Son.....

    we are both men

John 1:1 & 14 and Philippians 2 clearly state that God Became Man

When God had a Son, Jesus He became the Father and Jesus became the son

    this is a relationship

The Father and Son With the Holy Spirit are God

it is your understanding that is flawed...not God

According to Jesus, what must we do if we want to have God’s approval?

3 It is important that we worship Jehovah in the way that he approves. Many people believe that all religions are pleasing to God, but the Bible does not teach that. It is not even enough just to claim to be a Christian. Jesus said: “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.” To have God’s approval, therefore, we must learn what God requires of us and do it. Jesus called those who do not do God’s will “workers of lawlessness.” (Matthew 7:21-23) Like counterfeit money, false religion has no real value. Even worse, such religion is actually harmful.

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. There are three distinct beings in the Godhead and they work in harmony, in unity, to bring to pass our salvation. Thus, they are one God in that they work mutually for a united purpose. The Son speaks for the Father and the Holy Ghost speaks for both of them.

ALL Christians accept that Jesus is God, and the Son of God. Or, they are supposed to.

God put a piece of Himself into Mary, which was born as Jesus. Jesus was human, being the son of Mary, and God, as he was "of the same stuff" as God. Theologians call this "homoousios" when they want to talk fancy.

So, Jesus is both God, and the Son of God. That's how it works!

If God is created in your image, then it makes sense that God must be singular just as how you are singular. So if God is the father, God cannot be the son.

But like it or not, God revealed himself to us as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

One God, revealed to us in three persons.

"If you had known me, you would have known my Father also henceforth you know him and have seen him." - Jn 14:7

"...He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, Show us the Father? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me?" - Jn 14:9-10

Imagine yourself asking Jesus "Show us the Father" and Jesus replied "He who has seen me has seen the Father".

Think about it for a moment. What s going on here. What kind of an answer is that?

How is it that by seeing Jesus, I m seeing the Father? By knowing Jesus, I m knowing the Father?

It s no difference in asking...

"Show us God". Jesus replied "he who has seen me has seen God".

"Son" and "Father" are titles indicating different manifestations of God. It's not a biological Father/Son relationship. It's a symbolic one.

    Yes.

    The Bible teaches both.

And, of course, it is logically possible for both to be true.

If you imagine that it is not possible for Jesus to be both God and son of God, then the fault lies within you, and it is a fault in reasoning.
