Do any of you suppose that Whis being stronger than Beerus was so that we don't later on hate the latter for being extremely powerful?
Beerus is feared for being the God of Destruction. Even SHENRON and FRIEZA fear him. Not even Goku couldn t beat him even after becoming a Super Saiyan God. When it was revealed that Whis is Beerus teacher and, thus, his sole superior in being the strongest being in the Dragon Ball universe, it made me think that it was a way for us not to eventually hate Beerus for being incredibly powerful his superiority in power and strength to everyone, and being feared by everyone since Whis does not fear him (Beerus) at all.

No, Whis being more powerful then Beerus just states that even the God of Distruction isn't all powerful and can be beaten. It has nothing to do with making him not to be hated by fans.
