Xmas gift ideas for hard-to-shop-for father?

The day approaches but I can't for the life of me find a gift for my dad. I've been in every store and read every ideas list online and still nothing. All the suggestions are for the same things, none of which he likes. He doesn't drink, doesnt play golf, doesnt garden, doesnt use technology or gadgets, doesnt need wallets, clothes or shaving stuff, doesnt go to the movies, doesnt go camping, isnt into sports, isnt a movie or music fan, and hates gift cards. I survived for years getting him things he could use at work but now he's retired so I'm up a creek.

Yeah, I know, good luck right? Any suggestions are enormously appreciated!

Does he wear reading glasses? Maybe get him a personalized reading glasses case (there are a lot of internet sites that do this, but you probably won't get it sent to you in time for Christmas...)

Do you know what foods he likes? Get him some unique snacks. (for example if he likes jerky, there are some you can buy made from meats that aren't common, like elk, moose, alligator, etc)

My girlfriend bought her dad a card that has a vacuum with a long hose on the front. When you open the card, it says "Merry Christmas, dad. Can I clean out your wallet?" It might not work for you, depending on his occupation. My girlfriend's dad is a doctor.

    A book?

  • A keyring.

A framed photo of you two.

A phone case - if he uses a phone.

    Pay one of his bills.
