Christians, would you stone a woman to death on her wedding night if you found her to not be a virgin?

If not, why not?

Update:

Edit: Did God change his mind about what's morally permissible? Clearly he had no moral issue with it in the OT, regardless of who the law applied to.

God didn't change his mind. God never spoke to anyone on earth and made his views about anything known at all. The bible was written by a bunch of people. It did not fall from the clouds after being penned by the big man upstairs himself. All the people who contributed to writing the bible used the same approach: "I think you shouldn't do X Y and Z, so to make you do what I think, I'll say that it's God's will".

Everyone who thinks that God made the rules that the various churches came up with needs to grow a brain.

Christians follow Christ. If you were to read up on Christ and how He handled the situation with the woman caught in adultery, you would know that Christ was not big on stoning people. Therefore, Christians aren't either.

@Update: Clearly you do not read for understanding, nor do you know God or have any inclination towards understanding His ways. If you will not make the effort towards understanding on your own, then there isn't anything we can say that will make you. Have a nice day.

The fast majority of Christians these days would not stone a woman to death. I call it progress...

Atheists are under the Law of God because of their rejection of God's grace through Jesus Christ.

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and all were judged according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire; and anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

No, because having never been Jews, we were never under the Law that required that.

Why don't you ask Jews for a change, why they don't abide by the Law of Moses?

There are a lot of things that are difficult for outsiders to understand. Just reading the Bible does not give you insight as to what is for Christians and why.

Would you? Answer the question yourself since you know Christians don't stone people.

    Of course not.

I'm not a virgin; why should she be?

  • Because that goes against Christianity.
