How do I lose 15-20 lbs by April 30th?
I am a 17 year old female and I'm trying to lose as much weight as possible (and staying healthy weight) by prom. Most of the weight is in my hips and legs. I weigh 135-140 and am 5'6'. I have been 120 before but I still had chubby areas. I just want to be able to wear nice clothes now. What exercises should I do? What should I cut out of my diet?

Eat healthy, eat healthy, eat healthy. That's all it's about. What you put into your body is so important especially when you want to lose weight. Fresh fruits and veggies daily, nothing processed like chips, cereal, just junk ya know. And moderate working out is always good and will help keep your body in nice shape while your losing weight. For your problem areas: squats, lunges, and lower body workouts. Easy to look up some routines online. It's completely your choice, it's a lot of discipline. And if you wanna keep that body you have to stick with it. You'll feel so much better at the end of the day

There are a lot of reasons why a person gains weight - eating sugar, for example, makes you crave more and more sugar - it isn't a case of no willpower, it is like an addiction. In the same way, food companies and fast food restaurants add chemicals to their foods to make you want more and more. So, the key is to get these foods out of your diet. Another reason people overeat is that they are deficient in some nutrients, so the brain triggers the desire to eat, even when you just ate, in the hopes that you will get the protein etc.. that you are missing.. I've struggled with weight loss for most of my adult life. I would go on a diet, lose all the weight, then go back to what I was doing before that made me overweight. That is only going to make you gain it all back. I can tell you from experience! This may sound really hard, but I gotta tell you that IF you change your diet, it only takes about 3 days for your body to actually start to crave the new healthier foods.. and it only takes like 3 days to get rid of the sugar cravings etc.. so, if you really are ready for a change, this will work, you just gotta stick it out for 3 days and then it gets easier. this summer I lost 20 lbs in 2 months - and haven't put it back on..I've reached my goal, and so I can tell you this WORKS..follow this plan. 1) no more white sugar, or anything containing sugar - get over to the health food store and pick up 'stevia' - this is actually the leaf of a plant that has been ground up superfine - it is 32 times sweeter than sugar, and is great for iced tea, lemonade, apple sauce, oatmeal etc.. it is expensive but lasts a long time because you use so little. The benefit of stevia is that it is all natural, whereas white sugar, corn syrup etc.. is all man made crap that feeds bad bacteria in the gut. Whenever you feel a sugar craving - EAT FRUIT. Fruit is natural, it grows in nature, it is what we were made to eat. It is very nutritious, giving you lots of vitamins and minerals, and it totally kills a sugar craving. So, you want a candy bar? Have a banana instead! Or any other fruit that you like, and you will see that this works.. you are getting something super healthy, high in fiber, and ditching the bad stuff.. 2) Ditch all the processed foods that come in a box, bag or can - eat whole foods - get all those chemicals out of your system.. no crackers, canned soups, chips etc.. eat foods that are found in nature - fruit, veggies, eggs, nuts, rice, potatoes, chicken, beef, beans, corn.. 3) Eat mainly plants. I am not saying become a vegetarian.. I am saying eat MAINLY plants - they are low in calories and fat, but HIGH in vitamins, minerals and fiber - the exact opposite of fatty meats. You want to think of meat and fatty foods are something to eat only in small, small portions.. I start every morning with a huge smoothie that I make in the blender ( 2 bananas, a pear, some spinach, with water).. seriously, you will start to crave green smoothies - our bodies love it..and there are just a ton of combinations you can make! Always include the bananas though - then add a green leafy veg, which you won't even taste, then some other kind of fruit - pineapple, mango is nice.. or blueberry.. Here's a great video on green smoothies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqHRxr4a... With the smoothie, eat some nuts for good fat - we need small amounts of good fat to move the vitamins around the body - so 6 almonds, or 6 cashews, or 4 walnuts, or seeds - small handful of sunflower seeds.. Lunch and dinner, fill your plate with something starchy - rice, potatoes.. don't be afraid of starches! Here's a video on that 'the starch solution' - add lots of veggies to that, have fruit for dessert, and you can add some meat or eggs to this, but in a small amount. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XVf36nw... 4) lastly, take a look at this video on fasting - again this sounds hard, but by eating only 500 calories for 2 days a week, you get to eat a lot more the other days.. and it really works to help you lose weight.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWtaLLjJ... Trust me on this - your bad eating habits are just that, a HABIT.. you can change your habit and then it is your new HABIT.. it just takes sticking to this for awhile..
if you eat a natural diet of mostly plants, avoid white sugar like the plague, and stop eating chemicals, the weight will literally fall off - I am living proof of that..
