Can you write some kind of personal message on Facebook, when you are sending friend request to someone ?

I would like this person know why I requested him, but I'm quite sure he don't remember me and we also don't have any mutual friends.

Is it some way on Facebook that you can "explain" your request ?

    You can't unless you message them on Facebook unlike MySpace circa 2009.

    Yea,after you send the request click on the messange button,and type the messange you want to sent to the user.
