With Ted Cruz being a Canadian Anchor Baby and only renouncing his citizenship 18 months ago, is he eligible to be president in the U.S?

Yes. The majority of constitutional scholars concur that if a suit is brought forth, the U.S. Supreme Court is likely to vote in Ted Cruz's favor. This is because the first constitutional amendment on the matter stated quite clearly that children born overseas are natural-born citizens if at least one of their parents is one also.

Technically yes he is. But it is endlessly amusing to take note of how many of his supporters are Obama birthers who never had the intelligence to understand that even had Obama been born in Kenya he would still have been an American citizen via his mother's citizenship. But they sure have grabbed onto that fact where Cruz is concerned. Very funny.

John McCain doesn't think so. McCain pointed out that his presidential candidacy was challenged because he was born in Panama which is a US territory. He also said that others, who were born in US territories to two US citizens, were challenged in court. McCain doesn't believe that a Canadian stands a chance.

Cruz is despised by his own political party and I think they will make this an issue just to get rid of him.

The Supreme Court has never ruled. He was born to an American mother but not on US soil

re: His AMERICAN-BORN mother makes any charge of him not being a citizen, without merit.
