Do any of you here use a slow cooker?
I bought a Kitchenmaster double slow cooker today and the guidelines
say not to leave it unattended.
One of the main reasons I bought it was to leave it to cook my meal
while I was out at work all day, as I am always hearing people say
that they can just leave and forget about it.
Does anyone here use one unattended for long periods?

All the time. It's GREAT for soups, stews, or anything else you want to throw in and just forget about for the day, then POOF! hot food :)

Yes. I love my crock pot. It's great for a family. I prepare the food the night before and plug it in the next morning. While my dinner is cooking I can leave the house to do errands or do thing around the house....even fool around on Yahoo while my dinner is cooking :) It's a great time saver and my dinners are always a hit, very tender! To answer your question, yes, I have left it for several hours while I was out of the house and it's completely safe. The longer the better, actually. Listen, you should not have to cook any meal for more than 10 hours. Most meals are done between 6 and 8 hours. I've left it for 6 to 8 hours many times and it's safe. They are made for this reason. That's the best I can give you :) Call the manufacturer or read the instructions to feel safe and secure about it.

Absolutely....it's an essential part of our kitchen. Barbecue ribs in a slow cooker are awesome. Chili, too.

Yes...if you have a tough roast throw in some carrots, potatoes spices a bit of water. Turn in on low for 6-8 hours and you have a great meal. The roast is tender.
