I just bought one of those, & you would think the preset factory settings would be about right, but they aren't even close. After weeks of working on this going up & down depending on which tv show is on, I finally found the perfect settings. Color 25 Tint 20. That's on energy saving mode. It's so good I didn't even bother checking the other mode.

It might be different where you are depending on how strong your signal is, but I'm betting it's going to be between 25 & 20. If you raise the color, then it has a tendency to turn their faces red so you have to raise the tint too, but if you raise it too much then everyone looks yellow & then green.

What makes it difficult is the old tv shows have slightly different color than the new ones. So for a long time, I would get it right for old shows, but not right for new shows & vice versa. It's pretty tricky.

Something else to consider though is that if you are watching a news report or tv show filmed under street lights, people will appear slightly yellow. Just ignore that. White people also have a slight tendency to have a red tint to their skin so that's a bit normal as well, although you do want to minimize that.

All TVs are sufficiently different from each other

that they need to be set up using test signals.

Get a calibration disc (DVD or Blu-Ray; $20 to $50)

and follow the included instructions to the letter.

You cannot use someone elses numbers. The adjustments are there to compensate for YOUR particular television, your cables and your sources (antenna, cable box, sat box, BluRay, etc.)

Get a Pixar movie. Go to the Disk setup menu and you will find test-patterns and instructions to use them to adjust the basic brightness, contrast and color.
