Is it a bad idea to add somebodys name to auto insurance, in the beginning stages of a relationship?

I think so. But that depends on what *you* mean by 'beginning stages' etc. ... It may add possible disagreements or arguments about money to the relationship -- and especially if something like an accident or a legal suit somehow takes place, later on. Unfortunately. Simplicity and un-complication are probably best. But it's all up to you, also.

    Depends

That depends. If you are going to allow that person to drive your car, then if they have an accident in it, and you hadn't put their name on your car's insurance, the insurance will NOT cover such a person driving it, and you would get nothing in the event that such a person got in an accident with your car.

A month ago you were a college student married to a guy from Jordan. Be advised that "somebodys" is not a word in English.

Majorly, yes. You don't want to be liable and responsible for someone you barely know. Just too damn risky. Tell him to get it for himself.
