why do jobs not hire even after an interview?

I have done over 35 interviews. I'm 5000$ in debt and need to pay this ish, but no one is hiring ive even got a place telling me "if you can wait 42 weeks we have a position opening up then".

why do people offer interviews then never hire? I mean ive gone to places where they need 12+ staff. and ive mean ive gone to places like Xerox to moving companies nursing homes and even fast food. and yet they still never call back. or when I call them they simply state "we decided to go a different route"

I mean these places act like they are going to get professionals coming in. like at a jack in the box I got an interview and they literally asked me "have you had 5 or more years in the food industry?" if I cant even get into a low a$$ job like this? how do they expect anyone to get a job? when you cant even get training I don't have the money for college I don't even have money, this is being posted from the community center library... dafuq am I supposed to do? only work ive done is electrician (almost died so I was fired so I couldn't get workmans comp) landscaping (broke my arm so I was fired due to inefficiency) roofing (had a nail from a roll of old shingles punctured an artery and the company didn't want to pay for the hospital bill) only places it seems work is available is construction. and if you even want to get a low level job like mcdonalds they want stupid crap like years of experience working in the food industry...

what should I do> because this is impossible

If you've had 35+ interviews and not a single job offer, then the answer (like it or not) is pretty simple. Something you are doing during the interview is causing you to not get hired. It could be anything from how you look, dress, talk, give answers to questions, anything, and since nobody here has interviewed you, we can't say for certain. You can say that you aren't like this in interviews, that you're positive, upbeat, perky, blah blah blah, but if you really want to understand what is going on here you have to take a hard and honest look at yourself. The bottom line is that it IS you, like it or not.

Now, if you want to know how to fix it, you need to get some honest feedback about your interviewing skills. Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to do mock interviews with friends or family members, or you may be able to go to a career center and get feedback there. But you have to be willing to listen to what they have to say to you, even if you don't like what you hear. If they say you come across as arrogant, then LISTEN TO THAT and figure out how you can change your answers or attitude to not come across as arrogant. If they say that you seem negative, don't argue with them about how you aren't, accept that is how you are coming across and learn from it.

Something is making them choose others over you. It can be your looks or personality or almost anything. You say you are so weak you can't lift a shovel of rocks without your arm snapping so maybe you look weak. You could come off arrogant or too shy or almost anything but ready willing and able to work.

I suggest self employment like lawn mowing so you don't need to deal with interviews or have a mock interview with someone who will tell you things you don't want to hear like you don't make eye contact or sit up straight.

You might be saying too much talking about goals and aspirations making them think you will not stay the minute you don't have to. Also find a way to respond when they ask something like if you have 5 years in the food industry. A response might be not yet but this will be a way for me to get it and I would really like the chance.

Watch your cussing if you use phrases like positive as hell they might not think you can keep a civil tongue with customers.

Your mentality is what's keeping you from getting a job. Even if they know you can do the job, no one wants to work with someone who is negative about it. If they want years of experience in food, tell them you don't have it but you relate experience you do have to what they're asking for. It's more than qualifications. Even if you're the best McDonald's employee alive in regards to technical skills but you're an ***, the employer still wouldn't want to work with you. I'm not saying you're a jerk but if you interview and the employer can tell that you think it's a stupid job, they won't like you no matter how capable you are. Just need to keep on trucking.

    Good luck!

First of all just lie and say you worked at Burger King for 4 years while in highschool....they don't check and they will have to train you there own way anyways so its not like they will expect to you to know how to do everything right off the bat. And try not blaming getting fired at previous jobs on you almost dieing and them fireing you to keep you off workmen's compensation....they will think your either a liability or like to blame others for your issues. Just be polite and say whatever you think they wanna hear. Most places like fast food and entry level jobs don't care as much about experience as they do your attitude and how anxious you seem to wanna work. Last thing they wanna do is hire some cry baby who needs to be supervised 24/7.

Sounds like the common denominator in this is you, your shitty attitude, and your general incompetence. If you're going into an interview with this attitude and outlining that you got fired from previous jobs because you're a clear danger to yourself and others, guess what - you're not getting a job.

99% of companies giving interviews ARE hiring - they just wind up hiring someone else

Because they found someone they like better or they don't have a position available. Sounds like you need to move to another area.
