Love it! Best on a warm summer afternoon.
Use tall, Collins-type glasses, fill with ice. Put out the bottle of pastis and a pitcher of water. Let everyone prepare their own to their liking.
Kind of a mind blower for newbies when the clear pastis turns opaque when added to water.

It's FOUL! Oh the aniseed flavor ugh not so good! I really like the color trick where it's translucent at first and then with water it becomes cloudy but the flavor is just not attractive to me.
