There are cartoons aimed specifically at adults, like Family Guy and American Dad.

There are adults that watch kids' cartoons as well though, just because they find it entertaining.

I'm and adult and I watch cartoons. I don't have kids, I'm not a pedophile and my interest is not in nostalgia.

I do watch them much differently than I did as a child or a teenager. I spend much less time thinking about plot and much more time thinking about style and frame rate and what is on the cell and what is on the background and what cells have been reused and what cells were drawn for a sequence and such. In short, I still watch animation because I love the craft of animation.
