    No.

Did Spike Lee ever think to ask why there have been so few Asian Academy Award winners? Native American? Afrocentric thinking doesn't allow for alternate explanations.

Awards should be based on talent, not on quotas.

There are five slots to fill in each acting category. Five. Only the five best performances make it. It is not improbable to believe that with our black population being only 12% of the total population, that out of the hundreds of performances the best five performances did not include a black actor. Given the many Oscars awarded to black actors in recent years, it is almost insulting that people like Spike Lee is accusing Hollywood of being racist.

Are you kidding? I thought for sure that Ride-Along and Get Hard were both going to be up there at least for the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor categories.

The problem with the Oscars is that the very people who are selecting the nominees are the ones who can be nominated and then only they vote for the winner. That's like letting Trump, Rubio, Bush, Cruz, Carso, Christie and the rest select who will be the presidential candidate and then only they vote on that candidate.

The nominating system is flawed, as well as the voting system... but then again so is the thought that you can choose poor roles, act badly in them and win... because of the color of your skin.

If anyone can talk, he can. Do the right thing is one of the best movies I've ever seen and was a no-brainier for Oscar instead of that dreadful driving miss daisy. He has a legit gripe against the academy.

No, the Blacks objecting need to learn that there is a difference between equality of opportunity and equality of outcomes. There is no Black quota for nominations.
