How come there's no 2 on 5 in hockey?

I go to see my local college hockey team. Twice this year I've seen 3 of the opponents go into the box. NONE of the penalties were served for the goaltender.

Yet it's always turns out to be a 3 on 5.

I doubt we'd ever see that at the NHL level but are college rules different?

It just isn't fair. 2v5 is too many people on one side of the ice. The NHL made it so that the least and most amount of people on the ice could be 3v6. If there are two people in the penalty box already and a third goes in. They add more time of being 3v5. Then the only way of getting 3v6 is if you pull your goalie.

No. As far as I can remember (I'm 64 and have watched most of my life) it's always been no more than 2 off the ice at any one time.

When the goalie gets a penalty another player serves it for him...which I always though was wrong.

Yes, some rules between the 2 differ, but not this one. There always must be at least 3

skaters on the ice for any team.....

And 5 on 3 situations do occur in the NHL,

    just not very often.....

The 3rd penalty is applied when the 1st expires,

so he will sit in the box until this occurs.......h
