What could be wrong with my pointe shoes/ankles?
So after an 8 week break from dance (school holidays) I have finally gotten back to ballet! But when I got back to pointe, my shoes didn't seem to fit! I felt like my foot was suckling in the shoe! These were the Bloch European balance and I feel the box was too wide for my foot. Anyway, I decided to try my old pointe shoes the next day which were the grishko 2007 pro flex. They were still extremely strong and not dead yet so I said why not and decided to give them ago. But my feet were even worse in these! The suckling rolled my ankle over and now I have sprained it minorly so can't do pointe work until it heals... So one shoe was too wide and the other too narrow.. I was struggling with some relevès (two foot to one foot work summing it up) so I am doing my physio excercises that I was given a while back for an ankle as of previous injury.... Is it the shoe that is bad or is my ankle just weak, hence my foot sickling in the shoe? Could it be both? Could you give me an explanation to why this is happening??

You may possible have out-grown your ballet shoes.
Asy your ballet instructor about this matter.
