What could be wrong with my pointe shoes/ankles?
So after an 8 week break from dance (school holidays) I have finally gotten back to ballet! But when I got back to pointe, my shoes didn't seem to fit! I felt like my foot was suckling in the shoe! These were the Bloch European balance and I feel the box was too wide for my foot. Anyway, I decided to try my old pointe shoes the next day which were the grishko 2007 pro flex. They were still extremely strong and not dead yet so I said why not and decided to give them ago. But my feet were even worse in these! The suckling rolled my ankle over and now I have sprained it minorly so can't do pointe work until it heals... So one shoe was too wide and the other too narrow.. I was struggling with some relevès (two foot to one foot work summing it up) so I am doing my physio excercises that I was given a while back for an ankle as of previous injury.... Is it the shoe that is bad or is my ankle just weak, hence my foot sickling in the shoe? Could it be both? Could you give me an explanation to why this is happening??
2 AnswersDancing5 years agoIs doing 8 hours of ballet training enough to help me gain a career in dance?
So I am starting up 8 hours of dance (a bit of it I'm teaching)... I'm looking at becoming a dance teacher or a professional dancer (I can dream lol I doubt I'd be in a company) so I don't know whether it's enough?? I'm probably going to have extra classes for my exams every now and then.. I'm one of the best in my class but I don't know if being second/sometimes first best is good enough to have a successful career.. Could anyone give me advice on whether I should get more ballet classes and what I should do in order to have a successful dance career?

1 AnswerDiet & Fitness5 years agoHELP! MY PERVERT TECH TEACHER IS NOW MY HOMEGROUP TEACHER!!!!?
Ok so I looked at my timetable and I have changed home groups (I go there every morning for notices, for the rest of my schooling) and I found out it was my tech teacher....... So last year this teacher kept looking at my chest and legs and telling me I had nice legs - and when we were learning to weld metal I was having trouble and he held my hips to try and guide me.... Then he asked me to pick up something for him on the floor, and then said "so you're wearing a G-string to school? Who's the special someone to see it?" I said nothing. he always treated me differently from the others and always invaded my personal space! I hate him! He makes me feel so uncomfortable! What do I do to deal with him?!
Teaching5 years agoIm sick of being second best in my ballet class! What do I do?!?
So I'm always being shadowed by this other girl in my ballet class. When she's away, I pretty much get ranked up and get double the attention she gets! Other days, I am barely noticed, corrected or complimented! How can I step out of her shadow and show my ballet teacher I am just as good as her?

7 AnswersPolls & Surveys5 years agoI THINK MY DOG SWALLOWED MY RING URGENT HELP!!!!!?
Hi, I'm Georgie and I'm 16. I just bought a ring, it was only $5 but it was really pretty. Anyway, I got home, put it on the table, had a snack then left. Came back to get it and it was gone!! I know, I'm irresponsible. I think it must of fallen off the table! My dog is 1 year old caboodle. Mum won't take him to the vet because she thinks he will just pass it out, but the ring had a tear drop shaped gem and I'm worried the sharp edge will hurt him!
5 AnswersDogs5 years agoTOUGH DECISION HELP!!!?
Hi,
So I dance at two places: I do ballet 2/3 times a week at my ballet academy and on a Sunday 9-1 I do my school dance group lift dance. My school dance group is getting a little annoyed as I have ballet exams coming up and I have a lot of extra rehearsals in the time slot of my school dance. As I've moved dance schools I have a lot of rehearsals that go on and sometimes as the teacher calls sick she does a make-up lesson on the Sunday.
Anyway getting into the main bit. So I have a make-up class this Sunday. Mum said as I have missed a lot of school dance lessons I can't have the extra rehearsal the day before my exam. I have to go to school dance! I need the extra rehearsal! She said if I quit school dance I can go. I love school dance as we go in a festival each year, and we are halfway through the production. And as my sister is in it as well I'd have to watch and I'll start to regret. They have taken my headshot and I'm on the advertisement poster!
Should I quit?? What should I do?!
2 AnswersDancing6 years agoDO I HAVE A GOOD BALLET TEACHER?
so as I've moved dance schools at the beginning of this year, I've been thinking a lot lately about whether I like it there. One of the girls are the centre of attentions and I never get any attention during my class. I got a spot in the junior show as the lead character and since I got that, she's been giving me a lot of time there. So it's like I have a limit of ten compliments and I use them up before my class!! I feel invisible in my class. And to be honest, I'm the 2nd/3rd best out of nine in the class ( as one of my friends say ). In one of our routines, we had to do fouettés. It was he first time we had done them all year but I'd never been taught them. I'd learnt them a few weeks earlier briefly but I can't get the hang of them! The others had known them for years. She asked if I could do them,. I said no but I'd love to try but she said no and gave me this way too easy combo at the back! I felt downgraded. From the front and centre to the back. It really bugged me!! My old teacher (since the school shut) is doing private lessons somewhere else nearby and asked if anyone wanted them the other day via Facebook. She was part of the royal ballet and she used to push me and I'd improve faster. Is my current teacher a good teacher? And should I get private lessons from my old teacher as well?? Help!!

1 AnswerBooks & Authors6 years agoIPHONE 5C URGENT HELP!!!?
So recently my iPhone 5c (16gb) has been playing up. As I touch or scroll the screen, it either freezes, glitches the page in random directions, opens random apps and as I exit they open back up again, or when I'm typing half of the keyboard won't work. Sometimes the screen won't even work so I can't turn it off/on! I figured recently if I lock it and then unlock it my phone works fine but I have to do this every 5 mins!! I went to the Apple Store and they said it's a physical problem and if have to book an appointment but I don't have enough money to pay for it! I've never dropped it before. I don't want to restart my phone and wipe the data. Help!! What can I do?!

7 AnswersDancing6 years agoDOES HE LIKE ME?
There's this guy near my locker and he always comes up to me and says cheesy pick-up lines.. I think they are cute but he does them to every girl. I'm kinda falling for them and growing feelings for him.. He also started patting my head for no reason once and I'm not sure what it meant.. He talks to me and I talk to him before school about random stuff but that's only because I want to be friendly.... Does he like me from what I've said? And is 14 too young for a boyfriend?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating6 years agoSO CONFUSED!!! HELP!!?
So I have a new best friend called Claire. She's very shy. I stayed at her house for a sleepover so we could watch all the pretty little liars seasons l and it was fun. But then we went to the shops today and she kept putting her arm around my shoulder.... I was and still am confused! And then she sent me a message saying miss you already with hearts and kisses..... She also always says I love you to me - is she trying to date me? Is there a way I can tell if she is a lesbian? Don't get me wrong, I support gay rights but I am happy having a boy-girl relationship... Why is she acting like this??
2 AnswersMental Health6 years agoPLEASE HELP! my dreams are crushed!!?
I've just realised that I'll never be a professional ballet dancer. At 14 it's too late. I have no other passion. I am workin so hard for nothing. I am worth nothing to ballet. I try so hard to perfect my body for ballet and although I'm flexible, my feet and legs are holding me back although I am very skinny. Advice???
4 AnswersDancing6 years agoURGENT OPINION NEEDED!!!!!?
So I'm 14 and really want to become a professional ballerina! I need to get into the Australian ballet school to even have a chance so I can go to the Australian ballet company! We live in SA and it's in VIC and mum isn't willing to move there as my sister is pursuing her dreams here. We aren't financially for either... I feel as if I'm not ready to do boarding school by myself and have no family living there (unless I go to the Brisbane school but I always get heat stroke there)... What should I do?! I can't get private lessons to improve quickly, I have 3 hours of ballet per week and it's not enough! There's no opportunities in my state!!!
