They politicians govern us and they use that to have control over our lives.
How much control is by what they can get passed to make us do things.
Some people like to enable others and some like to force people to do things.

Trying to manufacture goods in America and employ Americans has become a hopeless task. You can thank liberals for that. If you are unhappy, vote for Trump.

your understanding of basic economics seems weak. Increases in foreign trade, on average, make both countries richer. Seattle is a rime example of this, having two major employers [Boeing and MicroSoft] that make half or more of their sales outside the US and both of which pay their employees quite well.

Why is cowardice -- we for the most part are afraid to fight them -- the plutocrats & their political & propagandist puppets.
Those motivated by Greed and Hubris: many [not all] plutocrats & pols, wont spontaneously do much for the jobs of the masses.
So We have to motivate them to do that --

It is hard to fight the man when politics is so lopsidedly in support of the man. One whole political party is enthusiastically busy helping the man, and the other gives only tepid objection to the man's power.
