copulsive thinker, every idea i have is instantly assigned a minimum 1% chance thats it total nonsense (percentage rises if its fairly obvious). to assume you are not wrong is a mistake humanity has never learned from, but i have, im 99% certain i have.
If we started a political party (in the UK, Scotland specifically) where everything was broadcast, would this be better?
No more back room deals, no more closed debates. i think we need to document every level of goverment and how it works and then compare this againt how it actually works. we need to expose any areas where there are failings for future generations.
this wouldnt work in the USA or the UK as a whole likely as they have too much to hide, but Scotland has no secret service, no major industrial backers pulling our strings, i think we could make a decent honest run at it. allowing the people access like never before. but what would be the pitfalls?
3 AnswersGovernment5 years agoi am begining to believe in god but with some specific criteria, do you agree with this?
basically we have to remove all current religeon from the equation, and we cant be blinded by science.
the way i see it, and BTW, im the first to admit its a guess and i might be wrong, but here goes.
1- the universe exists
2- life exists
3- nobody cant explain to me in terms i can understand how this came to be.
4 - our current notions of god are more often than not plain stupid - lets kill people who dont believe/are gay/believe something else. i doubt an imnipitant being would care about that
5 - science cant explain the origin of the universe, sorry guys but the big bang theory is just a theory and even at that it only attempts to explain events AFTER the creation of the universe.
6 - we dont know what life is really, i mean our true selves, sentient and aware.
so with all this im thinking - there likely could be a bigger being, but its more like a parent to us children. we are immature compared to it and not ready for the knowledge it currently has. we dont worship our parents though, we respect them, parents dont punish children for faults they dont understand, they educate or leave the child to learn on its own, and parent never expect a child to run around proclaiming that their parents are the best and screw everyone who doesnt agree.
break it down to the basics and i think we could be on to something. but i guarantee i get abuse for this idea

the way is actually detailed in the "top answer" to this question due to limitations in characters.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality5 years agoHow can we encourage the sensibile, but usually reserved people of the world to stand up to the loudmouths and idiots?
i might be guilty of this myself although i usually recognise it and put the breakers on it, but we see alll the opinionated loudmouths on the internet arguing the toss of every sensible suggestion made, can we create some forum where en etiquette is developed to minimise the impact of unreasonable comments?

1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs5 years agoare we able to define/describe an all powerful being such as god? assuming they exist of course.?
my thinking for this goes something like this and for the purposes of this question i am assuming some form of deity exists, but i am unsure if i actually believe this to be true.
god - a being that created everything we know of, and entire universe which, while it may not actually be infinite, may as well be to our limited senses. he created everything in it and all the process's that keep it running, so far, for at least 17 billion years, with little or no direct input from him.
why would a being so powerful create a measley little planet with flawed little being on it and then give them half an idea of his existence and then bugger off and leave them to fight it out. i dont think he would create the universe for that. in fact i cant think of why he would create a universe at all.
he would however create a child.
thats the only thing i can possibly relate too. but without understand what we (the child) actually are, we cant understand god. this should be the focus for our children.
