Due to the media and unreliabilty of social media its hard to tell but is humanity improving or degrading?

Despite the conflicts that are still being waged around the world since the Second World War, and despite the shennanigans of the political right in the last thirty years, this has been relatively the most peaceful period in recorded history.

We have (in Europe at least):

The best healthcare

Lower crime rates

Increased lifespans

Access to more resources

Better technology

Increased leisure time

Increased social mobility

Better education

Better civil rights

No religious impositions (well, not in Europe, anyway!)

Better quality of life

That's what evil Satanic secularism does

Of course, if, like the religious freaks, those who want to go back to the "good old days", can go and fûck right off my planet.

Same as ever. There will always be people who are too stupid to recognize propaganda so there will always be people to follow the Stalins, the Hitlers, the Mussolinis and the Trumps. There will always be people who can't think hard enough to see the world through other people's eyes. There will always be people who are incapable of uttering a kind word. But there will always be good , intelligent and analytical people too. The proportion of each is probably pretty constant.

Degrading.

Social issues occurs more often and are worse and worse. You need to be alive a few decades to see this, or else research social history of the past few decades.

We have hard statistics.. all scaled against the global population size

Violence/war is lower than ever in human history

Charity is higher than ever in human history

Life expectancy is highest ever in human history

Infant mortality is lower than ever in human history

Equality is higher than ever in human history

Disease is lower than ever in human history

These are steady trends that show no sign of stopping for now

Humanity is improving.. *fact*, unfortunately it is the medias job to sell the idea that things are getting worse so people dont realise this

In some areas it's improving, and in some it's getting much, much worse. One thing adding to that is the increased population, we have ten billion people now, and we have guns and bombs and all sorts of drugs, like there are ice gangs in South Africa who will kill you for your shirt, but then was it all that much different in the past?

Humanity is always the same, and the same today as in the beginning. Slavery is rampant throughout the world today, but especially in the 3rd World, poverty levels are as bad as ever globally, and war is just as widespread ongoing as at any time in history. And as far as medical development, illness claims just as many lives as it ever has---hospitals are packed to the hilt as usual. Regarding crime, any can witness that crime worsens steadily daily even in the US.

This question is answered differently depending on your attitude about life, politics, philosophy, education and economics, as well as what country you live in and your culture. Because all of these are factors that influence a person's outlook and their standards about what they consider better or worst.

In what way? As there is no ultimate goal for humanity, at least none that are unanimous and objective, it would only be a matter of opinion one way or the other.

Degrading very rapidly. Of course, atheists will deny this.

Degrading obviously. The new generation are stupid as **** and without technology and gadgets they wouldn't last long.
