3D Metal Printer purchase?
I am looking into a 3D metal printer.
A unit that i can print with a direct laser without support structure, I need brand names and models please. something medium sized, i only need it to print objects roughly 3x3x5 inches in size, but reasonably detailed at the 1/16" scale.
Also, can someone please give me some information on the 3D scanner i have seen in some commercials where you can scan objects and import that into a CAD program.
Thanks

I believe you would need some form of powder fusion system.
The object is built up in a tank that fills with metal powder and support is provided by the loose bulk powder, so no supports are needed in the object itself.
