Pregnancy and child from an affair: a male's interpretation.?

Whenever a woman cheats, gets pregnant and has a child from an affair, then the betrayed partner (boyfriend, fiance or husband ) is going to feel as if it was "intentional ". This is especially true if the couple has been together for a while.

Since pregnancies are totally preventable by using condoms and various forms of feminine birth control, then it should come as no surprise that the betrayed partner will believe that the pregnancy and child was deliberate.

As a result, the guy will feel that his cheating mate decided on some level that he wasn't "good enough " to have a child with so she found a "better" option. Also, if he stays and raises the child, then he may be foolish to waste his time, money and effort while the"real dad" gets a free pass.

Too many variables. If you are talking about evolutionary psychology, you have to think about the conditions we evolved under. Not our modern situation.

We have DNA testing now, but in the past we didn't. Plus, people mated with other locals, who probably had similar features. In nature, it would have been hard to know if you were cuckold.

In some cases, it might have benefited the male being cuckold, such as regular visits from the king or tribal chieftain. A son who had excellent traits (ex. hunting or strength or brains) could help your own survival, and those of your biological children.

Birth control is also new. If you work on biological norms, young fertile couples could expect a pregnancy in the first 3 months of regular sex. That could be six months for an older couple. Birth takes 9 months, and a woman can't get pregnant while nursing for the first 3-6 months+, so figure a new baby every 1.5 to 2 years. Women spent a LOT of time pregnant.

It is also true that a lot of historical cultures had different norms when it came to sex. In some cultures (ex historical Middle East), women were expected to offer sex to visitors, as part of being a good hostess! It was called wife-lending. In parts of Tibet, a woman could take multiple husbands, often brothers, which allowed the family assets to stay together instead of being divided. These are just a few examples. Monogamy as we define it was not always expected or practiced.

Has a guy I can never know what goes on in the head of any woman,, Especially one who risks all while having a dalliance. Most women who cheat make sure that they take the proper precautions, since cheating is about secret sexual activity which isn't supposed to be found out by partners. Those who get pregnant must know the risk they take when the they sleep with another guy. I find infidelity abhorrent and so would divorce immediately

In theory your views on preventing prenancy are correct, but it quite often happens that these things occur on the spur of a moment and unplanned.

The male partner needs to establish the reasons for his female partner wanting to "stray."

In principle your perspectives on forestalling prenancy are right, however it frequently happens that these things happen on the goad of a minute and spontaneous.
